I’ve worked closely with the Eastbourne Rowing Club and Brighton Panthers American Football Team, as well as helping hundreds of gym floor members with fitness programmes, personal training and small group training. In my own training, I’m a competitive powerlifter competing in the BP federation, specializing in functional barbell movements and general physical preparation.

I believe in an evidence-based practice that is free from overcomplicated jargon, inaccessible methods and paralysis by analysis, and I instead strongly advocate keeping things simple: focusing on traditional strength building movements, uncomplicated load management and simple and effective periodisation.

Ultimately, all that matters is stacking up quality, progressively more challenging work over months and years, and adopting a method that keeps you engaged in that process for the long run. Despite their many different objectives, every successful athlete has done this.

For me, one of the most rewarding things in life is being entrusted with responsibility and repaying the faith people have put in me. No responsibility is greater than a person's physical & mental health, so I set up FT Strength to help people find the same clarity and structure that has helped me discover who I was, and who I could be through strength training.
